We’ve said it previously but these oat cream IPAs are all about selecting the right hops that accentuate those sweet flavours we’re intentionally bringing to the beer. As we’re already laying the foundations through increasing the oats in the grist, along with hand-scraped vanilla and a dose of lactose for good measure, getting the hot side hop is tremendously important to create some balance and stop things wandering into cloying territory. Talus brings a healthy hum of underlying bitterness, before a cold side addition of Mosaic and Meridian bring those soft, sweet fruit flavours that accentuate the pillowy body and mouthfeel of these beers. Expect to find meyer lemons, sweet mandarins, boysenberries, mango and papaya in this next evolution of our Oat Cream IPA journey.
