The two saints, Cybi and Seiriol, lived on two islands off the coast of Anglesey, Holy Island and Puffin Island. They were friends and they met each other at the well of Clorach, about halfway between the two islands. The sun would shine on Cybi's face as he walked towards the east in the morning to meet his friend, and then again as he walked westwards at night.
On the other hand, Seiriol's back was to the sun in the morning and also at night. Consequently, Cybi had a tan and his face was yellow but Seiriol's face remained pale. That’s why they were called Seiriol Wyn and Cybi Felyn.

Bragdy Mona Proud of our roots, Bragdy Mona is on a mission to share a small piece of Welsh heritage, language and history with the world, all of which have an influence our fantastic beers. This is the ‘brain child’ of our Head Brewer, Huw Jones, who after years of home brewing, wanted to give others the opportunity to enjoy his recipes. So after a few late nights of ‘sampling’ and planning, during 2018, Huw and 6 others decided to take the plunge and form a Micro-Brewery. Joining Huw as Directors are his brother Rhys Jones and friends Gwyn Anwyl, Tom Williams, Rhys Evans, Meurig Jones and Sion Edwards. Whilst each bring their own skills and experiences to the business, all share a common passion for brewing and beer. Our brewery is based in Gaerwen. |
